Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data I collect through bzimmermann.com, why I collect it, and what rights you have. It is written in plain language on purpose.

1. Who is responsible for your data

I am the data controller for the personal data described below. I have not appointed a data protection officer, as I am not required to.

2. What I collect, and why

2.1 When you use the contact form
If you submit the form on this site, I collect:
- your name
- your email address
- your practice name and website, if you provide them
- whatever you write in the message field

I use this only to reply to you and to have the conversation you asked for. I do not use it
for marketing, I don't add you to a mailing list, and I don't share or sell it.

Lawful basis: your consent, given when you submit the form (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), and my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).

2.2 When you email me directly
If you write to bojan@bzimmermann.com, I hold your email address, your name and the contents of your message for as long as our correspondence remains relevant.

2.3 When you visit the site
My hosting provider records standard server log data, which may include your IP address, browser type, and the pages you viewed. This is generated automatically by the web server and is used for security and to keep the site running.

Lawful basis: legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (Article 6(1)(f)).

2.4 Cookies
This site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. It sets no third-party cookies. Any cookies present are strictly necessary for the site to function.

2.5 Who else handles your data
I use the following services, which process data on my behalf:

- Hostinger International Ltd — website hosting, email correspondence and form submissions, processing data under its own privacy terms as my processor.

I do not share your data with anyone else. I do not sell, rent, or pass it to advertisers.

2.6 Transfers outside the EU
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards those providers have in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

If we work together and you are based outside the EU, our correspondence will necessarily involve data moving between your country and Slovenia.

3. How long I keep it

- Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months, then deleted.

- Correspondence with clients: for the duration of our work together, and afterwards for as long as I am required to retain business records under Slovenian law.

- Server logs: as determined by my hosting provider's retention schedule.

4. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

- access the personal data I hold about you

- correct anything inaccurate

- erase your data, where there is no overriding reason for me to keep it

- restrict how I use it

- object to processing based on legitimate interest

- portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing

To exercise any of these, email bojan@bzimmermann.com. I will respond within one month. There is no automated decision-making or profiling on this site.

5. Complaints

If you believe I have handled your data improperly, you can complain to the Slovenian supervisory authority:

6. Security

I take reasonable measures to protect your data, including an encrypted connection to this site and access controls on the accounts where your data is held. No system is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date. Substantial changes affecting how your data is used will be noted clearly.
